The imagery for this project is based on the invasive kudzu plant, which is known for completely swamping fields, forests and even towns in a rapidly growing sheet of green leaves. We used this as an allegory for greenwashing: the spreading of misinformation about the sustainability-related ethics of large corporations. Many corporations bend the truth regarding their sustainable practices, using vague language and fake certification badges to convince the well-intentioned customer that they are environmentlly conscious, when in reality, this is not the case.
Erin and Finn collaborated to create an animated video that educates on greenwashing through our Kudzu interpretation. I worked to create the branding and a website that informs the viewer on how to spot greenwashing.
